This paper aims to investigate the approximations between working-class history and the historiography of sports in Brazil, through the expressions of workers football or factory football, in other words, by means of the studies about football clubs which formation, in different regions of the country, occurred from the involvement of the workers in some company or some sector of production. Starting with a bibliographic review, are treated different approaches on uses, autonomous or not, of leisure time; the expressions of working-class culture, specially the males; as well the multiples labour relations of the worker-player and the player-worker. Proposing a pedagogic intervention, the text discusses the challenges of the didactic transposition of those questions and the potentialities for the development of history teaching for classes of the high school.
