Abstract

The article discusses an experience of integration between Labor History and History teaching developed in Rio Grande do Sul. The project involved a course for teachers of the basic education about labor in coal mines. The discussions undertaken in the course informed the production and publication of a paradidactic book also intended for the public school system. Based on the proposal and development of the course, on the elaboration of the book and on the evaluation of the results, this study explores how the approach to work in the mines can dialogue with the concept of labor present in the BNCC, in addition to discussing the implications of local history and History teaching for this approach.
