Indigenous Oralituras and the Teaching of History: An Experience in Higher Education

Abstract

The aim of this article is to present an experience
report on higher education using
the themes indigenous history and oralituras,
history teaching and anti-racist education,
based on the development of an
interdisciplinary pedagogical practice,
covering knowledge about the history of
indigenous peoples that is also present in
literature, with the aim of bringing reflections
and another way of seeing history
from the cultural perspective of each indigenous
people. The chosen theme aligns
with the requirements of Law n. 11.645/08,
which mandates the inclusion of African,
Afro-Brazilian, and indigenous history
and culture in basic education. The article
details the activities carried out with two undergraduate History classes at the Federal
University of Santa Catarina in 2023.
