The aim of this study is to analyze the Brazilian scientific journal Revista História Hoje (RHHJ) in the period from July 2013 to June 2015, focusing on fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh issues of the magazine. It is argued that that publication period could resulted in a journal consolidation for the History teaching field due to an implementation of editorial strategies to qualify the journal and pointing its conceptualization out in Brazilian scientific evaluation editorials. It is also noteworthy that the set of publications maintained a close dialogue with the perspectives and challenges imposed for professionals in History such as public policies and schools curricular reforms as a proposition to reorganize basic and higher national education. Thus, RHHJ is comprehended as an expression of the History teaching field in its struggles for affirmation as an area of research in relation to the community of history professionals.
