This article presents reflections on the History Teaching, Public History and the relationship between the university and broader spaces of Society, motivated by reading the article O entrelaça-mento escola, universidade, cursos de História e públicos, by Bruno Flávio Lontra Fagundes, published in issue 20 of História Hoje. In the text, Fagundes analyzes the History courses at the Federal University of Paraná, problematizing their relationship with teaching and with wider audiences, in the 1970s and contemporary times. Professors and re-searchers that we are at this university, we were encouraged to reflect on the author’s statements. This text commu-nicates the result of these reflections and establishes a debate that, we hope, will be an opportunity for us to grow together, jointly strengthening the Public Universities that are in an extreme threat.
