Ancient economy has been relegated to
the background in the teaching of Ancient
History present in the BNCC proposal.
Its generalizing and little-depth
character does not contribute to a perspective
that accentuates the alterity of
the economic activities of Antiquity, in
addition to not encouraging forms of
comparison between different societies.
The objective of this paper is to reflect
on economic concepts and practices,
such as exchanges, trade and market in
the light of new historiographical perspectives
how a way of deepening the
proposal for History teaching presented
at the BNCC and overcoming Eurocentric
perspectives associated with History
and antiquity.
