This text presents a continuation of the research
with textbook users who attended
school between 1940 and 1970, published
in an article in 2004 in the journal Education
and Research, which was part of the
project “Education and memory: organization
of textbook collections”, coordinated
by Circe Bittencourt. The text here
presented aims to continue the analysis of
interviews conducted in 2004 and 2005,
considering the permanence of studies of
memories of school manuals, collected using
the oral history methodology. Three
interviews with deponents who studied
between the 1950s and 1960s were chosen,
associating them with the 2004 article, and
presenting reflections on textbooks, oral
history and the diversity of memories and
school experiences. As a result, it explains
the importance of studying and preserving
the history of textbooks
