The article discusses the relevance of school visits to museums dealing with memories of repression, specifically the Memorial da Resistência de São Paulo (São Paulo) and the Museo Sitio de Memoria ESMA (Buenos Aires). Interviews with eight history teachers from Brazil and Argentina show how they mobilize their knowledge to organize visits to these museums as part of their teaching practices. The interviews reveal that the teachers see these visits as an opportunity for students to experience the historical events studied in class in a more concrete way. These visits are not just complements to the curriculum, but an integral part of the historical narrative constructed by teachers in the classroom. They give students a sensory and emotional experience that contributes to understanding and reflection on the topics covered.
