In this paper, we shall analyze a pedagogical
experience with Guarani body paintings
from the perspective of the ecology
of knowledges, carried out with students
from the 2nd Grade of High School at the
Laboratory School of the Federal University
of Pará (EAUFPA), within the scope
of the Project Cartography of Afro-Brazilian
and Indigenous Culture in the Amazon.
This experience, which was organized
through the dialogue between
Anthropology, Visual Arts, Mathematics
and Guarani bodily knowledge, advanced
the questioning of indigenous history
and culture in basic education, by examining
the paintings from the perspective
of the cultural heritage of the indigenous
peoples and the site of memory of the indigenous
presence in Brazil. At the end,
considerations about the contributions of
the pedagogical experiment in the field of
intercultural and anti-racist education
are presented.
