The article covers a didactic experience
done with Elementary School students,
which the initial motivation occurred
because of a box found by the direction
of a school, containing papers made by
ex-students. We present these kept papers
to the current students, in order to
note how they would react when getting
in touch with assignments made by other
generations of students, in which
they reported about their stories. The
research aims to use the life history as a
resource to foster historical learning in
Elementary School students, having as
theoretical contribution the authors of
Historical Education, as Barca (2011),
Lee (2003), Schmidt (2011). As a result,
we highlight the participation of students
throughout the historiographical
process, as well as the learning generated
from this bridge between past and
present.
