
The article is dedicated to deeper understand the concept of historical consciousness discussed by Jörn Rüsen, based on a reading that proposes the understanding and centrality of the praxis as a fundamental element of the didactics of history. The inventory methodology (Gramsci, 1984) reveals dialogue possibilities between the concept and aspects of materialism based on the comprehension proposal of this article. It presents some results of a didactic and methodological strategy for the access and identification of shortages and demands of the relationship between consciences and historical culture in the present as a strategy for teaching intervention. Among the considerations is highlighted the continuity in the debates in the field, along with the possibilities for a history didactics that has the praxis as a founding element.
